Giovanni’s Been Nominated As A Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Finalist For London in the FSB 2019 Awards

On top of this, Giovanni’s now just been nominated as the Federation Of Small Business (FSB) Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2019 finalist for London and the South East.

Until recently, Giovanni’s work founding and building up the BMABA had gone largely unnoticed. For all of us ‘behind the scenes’, it’s superb to see his commitment and natural ability finally gaining the recognition it deserves.

Martial Arts has always been about reputation. Quite often it’s more about who runs the association than the good work the association does it’s self – something Giovanni hates, and has fought hard to ensure doesn’t become the ethos of the BMABA. With that said, the feedback we’re receiving is that it’s nice to see a martial arts association director gain awards and recognition for their entrepreneurial abilities, rather than a rubber-stamped dan grade. Being a capable martial artist is certainly important, but it in no way translates to effectively managing an association with thousands of members, hundreds of thousands of pounds of turnover, and countless financial obligations.

We hope this will be yet another indicator that ‘the guy at the top’ (who refuses to call it that, and works next to the rest of us in the office) isn’t just a really nice guy; he’s a truly capable businessman in his own right.

The Young Entrepreneur Of The Year category is for business leaders and innovators aged under 30.

The awards night will take place on April 17th, so we’ll let you know how he gets on!
